Living under over 50 years of dictatorship, most people in Myanmar (Burma) become poorer then ever. Recent changed in the country bring 60 millions population a new hope to reach international living standard. Opening new hotels and building new airports means in the near future, Myanmar (Burma) is becoming Asia's top tourist destination.
Eleven years ago, when I was a hotel manager in Inle, Shan state, Myanmar (Burma), many guests asked me "Can you get me a Burmese girl tonight, where can I get a girl?" Inle lake is surrounded by many small villages, unlike Yangon and Mandalay, there were no entertainment after dark, except the only bar in the hotel. As a manager, respecting guests individual rights, can't say no, but tried to explain that prostitution is illegal in Myanmar (Burma). Unsatisfied guests always complained "Inle lake is too boring for then". However there are millions of visitors who appreciated the beauty of Inle lake in their own view except some people who are visiting Burma with their own agendas and interest. Myanmar authority and country men and women want to keep sex tourists off the road but Myanmar (Burma) need vibrant attention to millions of visitors who will bring billions of dollars every year into local hands. They need to open the doors to everyone.
Aunt San Suu Kyi, one of the world's most powerful women said in 2012, last year just before she enter into the parliament as people's representative, "We welcome responsible tourism to Myanmar (Burma)". However, Burma needs to face reality, nothing is perfect on this planet.
